COLLAR DE TRAPILLO Y MACRAMÉ

Ya está terminado el primer collar de trapillo. Listo en 10 minutos! Encontré la inspiración en algunas páginas como madridknits y blueeyednightowl. Hice los nudos con macramé pero también pueden hacerse con trenzas o añadir abalorios flors, hay mil opciones.

Por supuesto en etsy hay piezas preciosas en las que encontrar inspiración.

TSHIRT YARN AND MACRAME NECKLACE

I Already finished the first tshirt yarn necklace. Ready in 10 minutes! I found inspiration in some pages like madridknits and blueeyednightowl.  I made macrame knots but they can also be done with braids, there are a thousand options.

Of course there are beautiful pieces on etsy for your inspiration.

TRAPILLO O TRAPILHO

¿Qué pasa cuándo haces punto o crochet o macramé? Pues que alguien acaba enseñándote alguna nueva moda... en esta ocasión el trapillo (o trapilho)!

El trapillo son ovillos de tiras de algodón recicladas (normalmente proceden de restos de otras telas o de excedentes de fábricas). Suele tejerse con una aguja grande de crochet pero yo he utilizado las dos agujas de tejer lana. El trapillo se puede tejer incluso con las manos y si no mirad lo que hace el artista Andrea Brena.

Compré la bobina en un todo a cien de Via Laietana por sólo 4 euros de la marca "Textures i complements" donde había muchísimo modelos a elegir.

T-SHIRT YARN

What happens when you knit, crochet or macramé? Someone that you know tells you about a new fashion... the T-Shirt Yarn!

T-Shirt Yarn are balls of recycled cotton strips (usually come from remains of fabrics). T-shirt yarn is usually knitted with a large crochet needle but I've also used wool knitting needles. The T-shirt yarn can even be woven with hands (have a look to what the artist Andrea Brena does).

MÁS BUFANDAS DIY

Otra bufanda pero esta vez de hombre. He elegido un color gris oscuro y una lana más gordita. Con agujas del nr. 10 terminas la bufanda en una tarde y se queda mucho más holgada.

MORE SCARVES DIY

A masculine scarf this time. I chose a dark gray and thick yarn. If you use needles nr. 10 you'll finish the scarf very quick and it will be baggier.

MI PRIMERA BUFANDA DYI

Ya está terminada! Mi primera bufanda hecha por mi!!!

Desde hace un par de años se ha puesto de moda en Barcelona volver a tejer y hay tiendas de lanas, patrones y agujas por todas partes.

Mi marido me regaló un kit de ifil que incluía agujas del 7, un par de madejas, un patrón para hacerme un cuello largo y las instrucciones para comenzar a tejer!

Estas son las instrucciones básicas para montar puntos, tejer a punto bobo y cerrar puntos. Muy fácil! Cerrarlos me costó un poco más... pero con la ayuda de algunos videos en youtube resultó muy fácil.

Este es el patrón de la bufanda que he hecho.

Y esta es la etiqueta "100% made by me" que incluyen en el kit y que te ayuda a personalizar la prende. Puedes elegir entre castellano, inglés y catalán.
Qué orgullo colocar por último la etiqueta. :-)

Venga animaos! Es muy fácil y entretenido y el frío ya está aquí!

MY FIRST SCARF DIY

It is finished! My first scarf "made by me"!

Knitting has become very trendy in Barcelona in the last couple of years and there are specialized stores everywhere. 

My husband gave me a set from ifil that included needles nr 7, a couple of yarns, a pattern to make a  long neck scarf and instructions to start knitting!

Please check above the basic instructions to start points, knitting and close points. Very easy! Closing was a bit more complicated but I found some videos in youtube that made it easier.

Picture nr 3 shows the pattern I used.

Picture nr 4 is the label that I added once the scarf was finished and that was included in the set (you can choose between English, Spanish and Catalan).

Isn't is cute?

WELCOME

¿A quién no le gusta encontrar un detalle original y bonito cuando vas de visita a casa de alguien?

Un bombón en la mesita de noche o esos letreros de cartulina al llegar al aeropuerto.... son esos pequeños detalles los que te hacen sentir especial para esa persona y bienvenida en su casa.

El mes pasado recibimos la visita de mi suegra que venía desde Houston. Para una ocasión tan especial tenía que hacer algo diferente. 

La inspiración la encontré en lasmanualidades.com donde hicieron la palabra "love".

Con un poco de alambre y tul creé la palabra "welcome" y la coloqué al lado de su cama. 

Su reacción fue maravillosa. Jill vuelve pronto! We miss you!

WELCOME

Who does not like to find a nice and original detail when you are visiting someone's home? A candie ion the bedside table or those cardboard signs at the airport .... Those are the little things that make you feel special for that person and welcome in his/her place.

Last month my mother in law visited us from Houston. For such a special occasion I had to do something different.

I found inspiration in lasmanualidades.com where they did the word "love".

With some wire and tulle I created the word "welcome" and placed it next to her bed.

Her reaction was wonderful. Jill come back soon! We miss you!

Tela de patchwork - Patchwork

PATCHWORK

Esta tela preciosa de patchwork con muñecas recortables la compré en el mercadillo de Els Encants de Barcelona hace semanas (aviso: en el mercadillo hay un único puesto de patchwork, las telas son importadas de EE.UU. y Japón y son carísimas... qué pena que se aprovechen y pongan precios absurdos). 

Gracias al tutorial que encontré en todo manualidades hice una bolsa básica y añadí el patchwork.

El resultado... una bolsa de viaje donde meter la ropa interior.

Creo que se la voy a regalar a una muy buena amiga...

PATCHWORK

I bought this lovely patchwork fabric with paper dolls at the flea market "Els Encants" of Barcelona Encants weeks ago (note: in the market there is just one patchwork shop, fabrics are imported from U.S. and Japan so unfortunately they are a bit expensive...).

Thanks to the tutorial I found in todo manualidades I made ​​this basic bag and added the patchwork.

The result is a travel bag where to put your underwear.

I think this will be the present for a very good friend ...
